Slack, Teams and WhatsApp

Slack, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp are where your Shadow reaches you and your team. They carry draft approvals, alerts and your daily digest, and you can ask your Shadow questions there.

  • Approval cards. When your Shadow drafts a reply or another action for one of your deals, you get a card showing the recipient and the full draft, with ✅ Approve & send and ❌ Reject buttons, plus a link to open it in Shadows if you want to edit first. Your decision is applied to the deal’s approval queue straight away.
  • Alerts. Deal risks, buyer activity, wins and losses, mentions and tasks, according to your notification preferences.
  • Your daily digest, if you choose instant messaging as its delivery method in My Shadow.
  • Questions. In Slack, message the Shadow directly, or mention it in a channel, to ask about a deal or give it an instruction, the same way you would in the Co-Pilot.

Connect Slack for the workspace (Admin or Manager)

Section titled “Connect Slack for the workspace (Admin or Manager)”
  1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. On the Communication card, click Connect on Slack.
  3. Approve the Shadows app for your Slack workspace.
  1. Go to Settings → Profile and find Team chat.
  2. Click Link my Slack. Shadows finds you in Slack by your sign-in email.
  3. Click Send me a welcome message to check it works.

If Shadows can’t find you, nobody in your Slack workspace uses your sign-in email. Ask an admin to check Slack, or update your Slack email.

Connect Teams for the workspace (Admin or Manager)

Section titled “Connect Teams for the workspace (Admin or Manager)”
  1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. On the Communication card, click Connect on Microsoft Teams and complete the Microsoft admin consent.
  3. Click Manage on the Teams tile to see an Approval card preview of what members will receive.
  1. Open Microsoft Teams and add the Shadows app.
  2. Tap Connect my Shadow in Teams.
  3. Your Teams account then appears in Shadows under Link your Teams account, ready to link with one click. Once linked, approval cards and your daily digest arrive in Teams.

WhatsApp is set up per person; there’s nothing to connect for the workspace.

  1. Go to Settings → Profile and find WhatsApp.
  2. Turn on Send me alerts on WhatsApp.
  3. Confirm your number and click Send confirmation, then follow the prompt in WhatsApp. If you’re asked for a 4-digit code, enter it and click Connect.

Approval messages on WhatsApp have Send and Cancel buttons. If your number is connected in more than one workspace, each message says which workspace it’s from. Turn the switch off to disconnect.

Once a channel is connected, decide which groups of alerts use it in Settings → My Shadow → Notifications. See Notifications.
