Price books and promotions

Pricing in Shadows is per product. Each product has its own price book and its own promotions, on the Pricing tab of the product builder. A deal carrying three products is checked against three price books.

Where: Settings → Products, open a product, then the Pricing tab.

Who can use it: everyone can view prices. Only an Admin can add or change line items and promotions; Managers and Sales Reps see the tables read-only.

Each row is a line item you can put on a quote:

ColumnWhat to enter
PlanThe line item’s name.
TypeSW license, ProServe, Support, or a custom category.
UnitFor example per seat / month, per user / year, per deal, flat fee, or a custom unit.

  1. Click Add line item.
  2. Fill in the row and click the tick to save it, or the cross to discard it.
  3. To change an existing item, click the value you want to edit. Changes save as you go.
  4. To delete an item, click the cross at the end of its row.

Promotions are discounts or incentives your Shadow can propose within your rules. Like every buyer-facing move, a promotion your Shadow proposes is drafted for the deal owner to approve.

  1. Click Add promotion.
  2. Enter a Name and the Discount, as a percentage or a fixed amount.
  3. Optionally limit it to a Region (leave blank for all regions) and set Valid until.
  4. Click the tick to save. A new promotion starts as a draft.
  5. Click Activate to make it available. Click Pause on an active promotion to stop offering it.

The Status column shows where each promotion stands, and Valid until shows Ongoing when there’s no end date.

The price book sets list prices; how far a rep may discount is set by the workspace’s approval ladder. A discount beyond the requester’s limit sends the quote to a Manager or Admin for approval before it can be published. See Team and roles.

Quotes themselves are built on each deal in the Deal Cockpit. See Pricing and quotes.
