Preview a room
Preview opens the room as a buyer would see it, so you can check what each person sees before you share it. Previewing is safe: nothing you do in preview is recorded on the deal or sent to anyone.
Open a preview
Section titled “Open a preview”- From the deal page: click the Buyer Space button, or choose Preview from its menu. The room opens in a new tab.
- From configure mode: click Preview in the configuration bar to see your unsaved draft as a buyer would. The bar at the top reads “Previewing your unpublished draft. Buyers can’t see this yet.”
Anyone who can open the deal can preview its room, including people with view-only access. If the room doesn’t exist yet, previewing it creates it.
View the room as a specific person
Section titled “View the room as a specific person”A dark bar across the top of the room shows “Seller preview only. Buyers never see this bar.” Use Viewing as to switch between:
- Full view (AE): the whole room, every stage.
- A specific stakeholder: only the stages and sub-stages that person can open, their own welcome message, and the approve or acknowledge controls they would get.
This is the best way to check stage access before you invite someone. See Go live and share.
From the same bar you can:
- Click Edit welcome message to edit the shared welcome message, or the personal one for the person you’re viewing as.
- Click Configure to switch to configure mode.
What doesn’t happen in preview
Section titled “What doesn’t happen in preview”Preview never affects the deal. While previewing:
- Room visits, time spent, and video watches aren’t tracked, so your own clicks don’t show up in engagement analytics.
- Conversations with the buyer appear read-only. You can see them, but you can’t post into a buyer’s thread from the preview.
- The AI Concierge answers as the stakeholder you’re viewing as (or as the champion in full view). It doesn’t save the conversation, send invites, book meetings, open requests, or raise flags. It shows you what it would do.
- Buttons such as request forms and approvals don’t create real requests or approvals.
Preview links are personal to you
Section titled “Preview links are personal to you”When you open a preview, Shadows signs you in with a short-lived, single-use link. If you copy the address from your browser and send it to someone, it won’t open the room for them. To give a buyer access, use Share link instead. See Go live and share.
