Notifications
Your Shadow tells you when something needs you: a draft is ready to approve, a buyer asked for a human, a deal is slipping. Settings → My Shadow → Notifications decides which of those reach you outside Shadows, and where. These preferences are personal; changing them never affects a teammate.
How it’s organised
Section titled “How it’s organised”Events are sorted into groups, most urgent first. You set channels per group, and you can switch individual events on or off inside a group.
| Group | What it covers | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Approvals & asks | Someone is waiting on your decision. | Draft ready to approve, Buyer requested a human, Buyer named their price, Discount needs your approval |
| Deal risk | A deal is slipping, but nobody is blocked on you. | Competitor named, Champion went quiet / at risk, Close date passed, Stalled / slip risk |
| Buyer activity | A buyer did something; nothing is required of you. | New stakeholder in the room, Buyer booked a meeting, Invite link still unopened |
| Wins & losses | A deal reached its end. | Deal signed — Closed-Won, Checkout completed in the Deal Room, Deal lost — Closed-Lost |
| You & your team | People and deliveries rather than one deal’s progress. | @mention on a deal, Task assigned to you, Outbound email bounced |
| Insights | Something new in your Revenue dashboard insights queue. | New finding in your Insights queue |
You only see events that apply to your role. Events meant for Managers and Admins, such as Discount needs your approval or A rep escalated a deal at risk, carry an ADMIN tag.
Channels
Section titled “Channels”Each group has a row of channel chips:
- Email — on by default for every group. Click the chip to switch email off for that group.
- Slack, Teams, WhatsApp — on by default for every group except Insights, which is opt-in. They only deliver once you’ve connected that app (see Profile). A dashed chip means the app isn’t connected yet; hover it to see whether it will start delivering as soon as you connect.
Everything also shows up inside Shadows regardless of these choices: in the deal’s Activity tab, the Flags rail, the sidebar badges and the approval queue. If you switch email and every app off for a group, the row says so: that group only shows up inside Shadows.
Change your preferences
Section titled “Change your preferences”- Go to Settings → My Shadow and scroll to Notifications.
- Click the channel chips on a group to turn each channel on or off.
- Click the event count on a group (for example “6 events”) to expand it, then click On or Off beside any event you don’t want at all. An event that’s off sends nothing on any channel.
- Click Save preferences.
To go back to the standard settings, click Reset to defaults, then save.
Not covered here
Section titled “Not covered here”- Your Daily Shadow Digest has its own settings on the same page. See My Shadow.
- Account emails such as password resets, team invites and sign-in codes are always sent; they aren’t notifications.
