Widget catalogue

Widgets are the cards inside each sub-stage of a Deal Room. You add them in configure mode with Add a widget to this sub-stage. The picker splits widgets into two tiers:

  • Library: ready-made widgets. Shadows decides what they do; you only place them.
  • Building blocks: general-purpose widgets you fill with your own content.

Every widget can be renamed. Each one also has a description, a seller note, a private note to yourself, and a choice of what to do when it has no content (Hide the card or Show a placeholder). These shared settings aren’t repeated below.

Everything the buyer needs to close in one card: line items, payment terms and method, discount, payment schedule, taxes, validity date, and the Accept & sign button. Every room includes a Quote widget.

  • Content: comes from the deal’s quote. You edit prices, discounts, and terms in the deal’s Pricing tab, not in the room. The buyer sees No published quote yet until you publish the quote. You can attach a PDF commercial proposal for the buyer to view. Upload one, or choose a PDF from Settings → Products assets.
  • Buyer can: choose between the terms you offer, enter billing details, ask a question about the quote, and accept and sign. See Checkout and signing.
  • Who can access it: only stakeholders who can open the sub-stage holding the Quote widget see pricing. The AI Concierge discusses pricing only with those people.

The buyer names a number and the terms they want, as a counter-offer. It reaches you as a price request. It never changes the quote. Use it when a negotiation stalls, or when a buyer won’t name a budget.

  • Setup: publish a quote first, because it anchors the conversation. Then place the widget. You answer the request from the deal.
  • Involve team: choose who else hears about it when the buyer names a price.

The buyer uploads a competitor’s quote, or types the competitor’s name, price, and terms. It’s compared line by line against your active quote. Only your team sees the comparison.

  • Setup: publish a quote first, because the comparison needs it. Uploaded offers appear automatically, so there’s nothing to choose.
  • Involve team: choose who else is told when an offer is uploaded.

A row of cards, one for each complementary product. Each card has a Get more information button. A buyer request raises a Cross sale flag on the deal, which you answer from the Cockpit.

  • Setup: in Settings → Products, tick Show in Buyer Space on the cross-sell links. In the widget, untick any product that isn’t right for this customer. You can also rewrite a product’s description for this deal, or click Reset to product text.

The buyer types the name of a competitor they’re also evaluating. They then read your approved “Why us” points for that competitor, and a feature-by-feature table if you have one. If you don’t have a comparison for that competitor, they can Ask for a comparison. Either way, a Competition flag is raised on the deal.

  • Setup: write points for each competitor in Settings → Products → Features & competition. In the widget, untick competitors that aren’t relevant, edit points for this deal, and choose whether it opens on Why us or Feature by feature.

A message, summary, meeting recap, or shared scratchpad.

  • Who can edit: Read-only, where only you write and the buyer reads. Buyer only, where the buyer writes it on the card. Or Both of you.
  • When the buyer can edit, you choose which formatting tools they get: headings, bold and italic, lists, quote, link, and highlight. You can also be notified when they edit.
  • Saved texts: add reusable text items from Settings → Company or Settings → Products, or type a one-off line. They show as bullets under the text.
  • The text can also show chosen meeting notes from the deal, exactly as written. The notes can be synced from your CRM or come from meeting debriefs.

Longer content split into tabs the buyer switches between, for example Overview, Pricing, Security. Only you write it.

  • Add, rename, reorder, and remove tabs. A widget needs at least one tab.
  • Each tab gets its content from one of three places. Typed into this tab. Company assets, which stays linked, so updates in Settings appear without saving the room again. Or CRM meeting notes, where the buyer sees exactly the notes you tick.

Your approved, buyer-visible FAQ answers for the products on this deal’s quote. If the quote has none, it falls back to your company-wide answers.

  • Setup: answer questions in Settings → Products → FAQ and mark them visible to buyers. In a deal’s room, turn off whole sections or untick single questions. In a template there’s nothing to choose, because the questions depend on each deal’s quote.

Files and links the buyer can open and download, such as an NDA, MSA, DPA, SOC 2 report, proposal, or onboarding plan. If you allow it, the buyer can send files back.

  • Where the content comes from: a document group from Settings → Products assets. You can filter by product (by default, the products on this deal) and by file type. You can also add your own files: upload them, paste a URL, or pick from the deal’s Documents. Click a file to hide it from this buyer, and click again to show it.
  • What can the buyer do?: Read-only (view and download) or Can upload.
  • Document review: turn this on to get a versioned back-and-forth, such as redlining a contract. Each upload becomes a new version. Both sides comment on each version, and you can Require a note about what changed with every version. Earlier versions are always kept.
  • Signature: mark a document as needing signature, and the buyer signs it at checkout. See Checkout and signing.
  • Involve team: route uploads to a department, for example Legal for contracts.

Plays videos inside the room, such as a demo recording, founder intro, or walkthrough. You see who watched and for how long.

  • Add a video from your library, paste a YouTube or Vimeo link, or upload an MP4, WebM, or MOV file (up to 25 MB).
  • Layout: One large frame or Grid (several side by side).

A deck, PDF, or set of images the buyer pages through, with a full-screen view. You see who opened it.

  • Choose a deck from your library or upload one (PDF, PNG, JPG, or WebP, up to 25 MB).
  • Choose Just show it, or turn on Document review to collect versions and a notes thread.

Another website shown inside the room, such as an interactive demo, trust center, or status page. You can also embed a PDF or image (up to 25 MB). You see who opened it, but not what they do inside the embedded page.

  • Paste an https:// link and choose a shape: Standard, Wide, or Tall. Some sites don’t allow themselves to be embedded.

The buyer writes a request, optionally picks a topic, and sends it. It reaches you as a flag carrying whatever they typed. Use it to capture a missing feature, an open question, or an objection.

  • Write the Question shown above the text box.
  • Add up to 8 Topic buttons (40 characters each).
  • Involve team: choose who’s told when the buyer submits.

The buyer asks for a document by category, such as a security questionnaire or an insurance certificate. If the document is in your library, they get it right away. If not, you get a request.

  • Set the Category buttons the buyer picks from, for example Policy, Certificate, Contract.

A to-do list both sides can tick off, with owners (you, them, or both), phases, and due dates. Overdue items are marked. Use it for a mutual action plan, a pre-signature checklist, or onboarding steps.

  • States: Done / not done, or 4 statuses (with Met, Needs discussion, Not met).
  • Group into phases, for example Week 1 · Connect.
  • Allow adding items lets the buyer add their own rows.
  • The checklist can show the deal’s Mutual Action Plan. Steps you add there are saved right away, not with the room’s Save.

Several widgets in one card, such as a security pack or a commercials bundle. It helps keep a busy sub-stage tidy. Add child widgets on the card and choose a layout: One under another, 2 columns, 3 columns, or With dividers.

Questions & answers is no longer in the picker; FAQ replaced it. Rooms that already have one keep showing it.
